The perfectly round stone building is painted inside and out a dark sangoire red. Studded into the stones up high are tiny bits of garnet and ruby shaped like teardrops. The House juts 6 stories into the sky and has a flat roof. The inside boasts a spiral staircase of iron leading to east and west walkways, private rooms round the tower, and is set with the red-glass lanterns Venice is famous for. There are no windows, and the House of Blood is an open if expensive Inn and Tavern to all travelling vampires and their ghouls, if kept under watch.

Cemetary Island is large and forbidding and most often surrounded by a thin mist hard to see through. The Necropolis takes any intrusion other than the proper areas onto San Michelle very seriously, but for those who dare to speak with the Caretaker or his Lamia servant, there is a dock large enough for a two-seater gondola to approach. Nearby are the three-man-tall forbidding iron gates of San Michelle.

The gambling den owned by notorious Setite Faruk Benji, Jacquel House is a place where you can wager anything, up to and including your soul, and maybe someone else’s. Shadows whisper of the many sacrifices of wagers lost in Jacquel House, offered up to some dark God Benji brought from his homeland.

St. Mark’s Square, also called the Piazza San Marco, is the place to be for any party worth it’s drunk in Venice. The site of every Carnivale’s beginning and end, the Square is laid out with looted tiles from the far East, set into the Square along with the Stonemasons marble in many wonderful patterns. All manner of clubs, cathouses, gambling halls, brothels and mini-shops line the Square, along with Citizen-owned booths that spring up selling costumes and masks around Carnivale. Edging the Square is St. Mark’s Basilica, famous for it’s clocktower, and the Doge’s Palace.

A high end tavern owned by the Contarini, the Cloak and Stagger is a place that screams opulence from across the seas. Indio silk lines the walls, with gold piping and delicate golden filigree. Tables and chairs of mahogany and ivory, and private booths boast mosaics of startling delicacy, sand mandalas, and exotic musical instruments. The finest red wines are available to the Stagger’s most wealthy clientele.

Walk amongst the mortals of this popular tavern. Be careful of what you say, you can never be sure of who is listening.
