First off, we thank all of you for playing in Blood in the Water. We're happy to see many old faces from Baptism By Fire and many new faces as well. As our game grows larger some issues have been made apparent that may not have been made clear to players.
The topic on hand is character information. These issues have been ranging from "My character did some information gathering or performed a task" to "I should be able to deduce that whosiwhatzit is a demon monkey from the abyss" to "I spied on a conversation between such and such and learned information."
You may be blessed with perfect memories, your characters may have eidetic memory, but we as staff do not. We have over 30 registered players in this game currently and that's alot of data for us to manage. We don't remember everything you tell us. Nothing is sacred until it is either stated on the forums, saved in an online conversation or email with an ST, or LOGGED in the chronicle along with being approved by a Staff member. This has been more or less accepted custom with our game, but we feel it needs to be restated so that no one can claim ignorance on the matter.
So if you run a scene with other players, or an ST or spy on conversations... make sure you find a way to log it IN WRITING!!! If you do not, we will not have written records to review your characters actions and we will rule against you if it is not written down.
And we should not have to say this but we will anyway...
BLATANT META-GAMING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! On the flip side of that argument, if you brag about your exploits or secrets out of character... we cannot prevent it either. This is a grey area that can really only be monitored/policed by your own personal views on the rules of the game. But this tenant will be enforced.. "If you know it OOC, you'll have to prove you know it IC, and it better be in writing."
Thank you.
